Helena grew up in rural Wiltshire amongst Baroque musicians and gardening grandparents. Her first experience of dance training was at the age of three when she was coerced into ballet lessons after her older sister was chucked out for being too bossy. "Dancing night" took place every Thursday when she and her sisters were being looked after by her grandparents, somewhere between the Cole Porter and Dvorak Helena decided to be a performer.

Helena is interested in liveness and how humour and improvisation can bring audiences and performers closer. She likes it when the personal, political and the universal mush together and when dance is euphoric and for everyone.

Helena makes theatre and dance works, she collaborates with wicked-cool people and sometimes facilitates workshops. She lives in Deptford in South East London with three great friends and Hamlet the fish.
